LA locals Steel Panther, aka Metal Skool, rocked the main stage this afternoon at Sunset Strip Music Fest. Deemed the “Best Tribute Band in the Universe”, it’s easy to see why these guys pack the house week after week. The House Of Blues on Sunset Blvd. was full of Rock ‘n Roll royalty Thursday as the rock music community kicked off Sunset Strip Music Festival, and turned out to honor one of their own. On the final stop of  her tour, Nneka hit the stage straight away, wasting no time in stepping to the mic and delivering her opening lyrics.

First two songs were bass heavy, drowning Nneka’s vocals, she rectified that swiftly, in a way both stern and understanding.  Which I think is what defines her as an artist.

However, it’s occasionally painfully obvious that they seem to be left with no other alternative then to do something really quite silly.
