For 15 years the fellas over at Duck Down Records have been grinding away and bringing the world some of the best Independent Hip-Hop and to celebrate their 15th Anniversary they are bringing nearly the whole damn roster to Austin with them to party at SXSW.

When you come to Texas this is this is the kind of rock music you expect to hear. Dallas, Texas-based band Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights return to SXSW this year armed with a fresh set of southern-tinged rock jams that are ready to be heard on your modern rock radio airwaves, but are more reminiscent of what was heard back when the likes of Skynyrd and ZZ Top were on top of the charts.

I have to admit, not many rock bands have excited me lately, but I did a double-take when I heard Karnivool. These Australians have crafted a complex sound of epic beauty and grinding intensity – they’re not afraid to explore new sounds and bend the rules of the genre as Ian Kenny’s masterful voice guides you along a journey with surprises around every corner.
SXSW favorite Alison Sudol – who made her SXSW debut at the festival in 2007 opening for The Stooges – is no stranger to great collaborations.
