The Academy Is @ The Avalon

The Academy Is performed in Los Angeles, CA on October 14th at the Avalon with the rest of the AP Tour Fall Ball.  The line-up consisted of The Academy Is…, Mayday Parade, Set Your Goals, The Secret Handshake and You Me at Six.  I arrived to the venue around 4pm to do a couple of interviews with Academy Is and Mayday Parade, and found a line of girls already starting down the block!  Now that is dedication ladies and gentlemen, because they were standing in the rain for another two hours until the doors opened.  The Academy Is and Mayday Parade are co-headlining, so it was MayDay Parade’s turn to close the show off.  Regardless, every band put on an energetic and wonderful performance and every body in the venue was moving all night.

The Academy Is.. played most of their hits: highlights including Slow Down, About A Girl, Forever Young, Attention, Classifieds, and my personal favorite, We’ve Got a Big Mess on Our Hands.  They had a great set – the sound was perfect, they sounded very tight and were on point.  No mess ups or difficulties on stage, and the girls were LOVING every second of it.   The band also caught up with LP33 before their show to do a quick interview for us.  We talked with William and Sisky about the band’s plans for the end of the year and will be sharing with our viewers very soon!  And if you are a fan of MayDay Parade, we have some cool tour stories that they shared with us, as well as some background information on how they got together and the members that didn’t make it into the band!
