The Big Pink Interview – First U.S. Interview On Camera

LP33 recently spoke with The Big Pink’s lead singer Robbie Furze and drummer Akiko Matsuura before their first ever performance in Los Angeles.  For a band that is quickly rising the ranks Furze and Matsuura comfortably answered are questions, even the one about fucking to their own music. Watch!

The British have a long history of providing the world with seminal pop acts . Starting in the 1960’s bands such as the Beatles, The Rolling Stones and the Kinks dominated the music charts in what since been dubbed the British Invasion.

I would argue, that this so called invasion hasn’t really ended, but just continued in distinct waves through out the decades. In recent years bands such Oasis, Blur and Radiohead have been seminal to more modern audiences, yet I believe that we might be on the brink of a new wave of artists.

Bands such as The XX, Marina and The Diamonds and The Big Pink could easily become house hold names like their well known predecessors. Regardless of  whether or not my predictions are right, these bands are worth checking out.

The Big Pink just finished the first leg of their North American tour, but they will be back beginning in March for a second run with A Place To Bury Strangers.
