After all these years in the music business, I’ve met most of the greats.  To me, no one can top a Beatle. A few weeks ago, I got a call from an old friend. Ringo Starr is about to release a new album, called Y NOT, and my friend thought that LP33 would be a good fit for an interview to help support the release.  After all, that’s what we do here. So we assembled our crew and set a date.

I worked with Victoria, our head of press, and we came up with a brilliant (if I do say so myself) set of questions. The day of the interview arrives and Andy our CEO, who was going to do the interview, wasn’t feeling great. Unbelievably, it fell to me, your humble narrator, to do the interview! OMG HE’S A FUCKING BEATLE!!!!!! My first thought was I really needed to go to the bathroom. So I pulled myself together and then I got really excited.

Our crew had set up earlier in the day and I was a bundle of nerves as Andy, Victoria, Colette and I arrived to shoot the interview. Ringo showed up just as expected and after introductions and a few minutes of small talk (I have no idea what we were talking about), we started the interview. I had my list of questions and Ringo had an endless supply of answers. At this point, time had stopped for me. How long was the interview? Three minutes, two hours?  I have no idea. I do know that I got to ask a Beatle who his favorite Beatle was. And I know that I will always remember that afternoon.
