The Roots New Album Set to Release October 23rd!
The Roots next album How I Got Over has been pushed back several times since its announcement back in April. While the band is busy five nights a week with their new gig as the house band for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Black Thought claims they still find time to put in work with their seemingly impossible schedule. In the midst of all this, the band manages to commute to New York five nights a week from their Philadelphia base. Its no wonder the Roots are considered the hardest working band in music.
The album title How I Got Over comes from their newly found success in the industry and highlights the bands dedication and their ability to stay relevant over the years. The release will be the bands ninth studio album (eleven if you count their two live albums: The Roots Come Alive and Jay-z’s Unplugged) and commemorates gospel singer Mahalia Jackson’s titled track which was the initial inspiration behind their first single also titled How I Got Over. The album is set to hit stores October 23rd so be sure to cop it!
