Mayer Hawthorne – Green Eyed Love Video

Mayer Hawthorne is certainly one of those artists that defies expectations; a constant reminder that we should never judge a book by it’s cover.

For example, by the looks of his photograph you would expect Hawthorne to be some sort of indie rock artist-not so. In reality Hawthorne is 100% soul, much like an updated version of Boz Skaggz.

In 2009 Hawthorne released his acclaimed feature length debut  “A Strange Arrangement” on indie Hip-Hop label Stones Throw Records and nabbed best artist of the year from The Real Detroit Weekly.

With the critics in the bag, Hawthorne will go after the masses in 2010, with an upcoming performance at SXSW this march and an appearance at Coachella this spring.
