Ringo Starr Releases New Album and Announces 2010 Tour details
Ringo Starr will be hitting the road this summer in support of his recent release “Y Not”.
The tour will kick off June 24, 2010 at Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls Canada, and will include a July 7 (Ringo’s Birthday!) show at Radio City Music Hall. The final performance will take place on August 7th at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
A new decade means new band. For the upcoming tour Starr has added a few additions to his ensemble: Rick Derringer on Guitar, Richard Page on Bass (Mr. Mister) and Wally Palmer (formerly of the Romantics) on Guitar/ Harmonica. However, Starr can’t pass on a little help from his friends, so he’s bringing back former musicians Edgar Winter (sax/keyboards), Gary Wright (keys) and Gregg Bissonette (drums).
Today Ringo released his self-produced album “Y Not” and has invited Ben Harper (who appears on the record) and backing band the Relentless 7 to make several television appearances beginning with Jimmy Fallon’s “The Late Show” on NBC. Tomorrow, Ringo will be dropping by “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” followed by appearances on Jay Leno, Grammy Music Series, Larry King Live and The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.
