Strung Out – Update -

After a few technical difficulties with the opening band and their drum kit, Strung Out played an amazing set. We were within the grips of one of the best punk/rock shows I have seen in a long time.

The opening band “The Darlings” put on a great show. I had never heard them before, but it really set the tone for the night. They played the perfect amount of songs and had everyone buzzing as soon as they stepped off the stage.

The next band wasn’t anything to write home about, they played a decent set but weren’t nearly as entertaining as “The Darlings”. Kind of anti-climactic if you ask me, but that’s just how it goes sometimes.

After a short intermission it was finally Strung Out’s turn. What more can I say; they played a great show. I’ve seen them a few other times in concert but getting to hear their new material live was definitely a treat.

They were really pumped about the show and you could also tell that being home from tour for a while was worth it. The rest seemed like it was allowing them to give a lot more on stage. It was a great performance topped off by my favorite song off of their new album “Vanity”. Check out the live performance they put on for the LP33.tv office HERE.

Strung Out have been performing  for  20+ years now so putting on a live show has become one of the things that they do best. They know how to get a crowd into it and there was certainly no lack of enthusiasm from fans on Saturday.

All I can say is if you haven’t seen Strung Out live, and are a punk fan I strongly suggest you check where they are heading next. As for me, I’ll be catching them as soon as they head back to LA, cool guys, and even better fucking music.

Before the show we had a chance to catch up with Jordan Burns, drummer of Strung Out. He let us in on a few things they have been up to since we last had them in the office. Check it out below.
